Robert Dreyfus music composer |
|
For electronic music he intends,
in general terms, the music produced with
electronic instrumentation. The locution is
sometimes assimilated, in way not entirely
correct, to that of music elettroacustic. Since
big part of the contemporary music is recorded,
played, and written with the aid of electronic (sequencer
hardware and
software) equipments, the expression is applied
in more appropriate way to that sons-in-law and
those musical works according to which the
electronics doesn't simply constitute a mean
used in the process of creation of a recording
of a musical passage, but it is intrinsic vice
versa to the same nature of the passage, as in
the case of incisions dominated by synthesizers
(hardware or software), samplers, drum machine
and more. Also used in this specific sense, the
expression electronic music can be applied to
works and artists with different musical intents.
The great pianist Bela Bartok has defined the piano the
first musical machine, true thing because there is no
physical contact with the ropes, but however musical
machine. |
